Police said the 48-year-old man said he was walking on the path between East Farragut Avenue and Green Lane around 4 a.m. when two men came up to him and told him to “empty your pockets.” The men allegedly brandished handguns and scuffled with the 48 year old when he tried to defend himself.

As the attempted robbery victim fled toward Farragut Avenue, he said he was shot in the ankle by one of the suspects, both of whom fled the scene, police said.

Anyone with information on the robbery can contact Detective Bill Davis at 215-788-7813 ext. 13.
