Keystone Elementary School Construction Nearing Finish Line

Construction on the new elementary school in Bristol Township’s Croydon section is moving along.

Work on the new 1,300-student Keystone Elementary School at the Mary Devine Elementary School site is moving along and the major construction is finished, according to Bristol Township School District officials.

The interior work on the new school is underway and furniture for the school will be delivered by the end of the month, Superintendent Dr. Melanie Gehrens said.

Elementary school-aged students who attended Lafayette, Maple Shade and Mary Devine elementary schools will begin classes in the new building this September.

The district will complete consolidated from nine elementary schools to three at the start of this school year. The two other new 1,300-student elementary schools are located in Levittown and replace six buildings in those neighborhoods.

Early on, construction was delayed on the Keystone building and the project was initially over budget. Final construction costs for the school have not yet been confirmed.

In 2015, the Devine building was taken down to make way for Keystone.
