The investigation to determine the identity of the man who was struck and killed by a CSX train in Middletown early Tuesday was ongoing as of Thursday afternoon.

Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla said his investigators have a possible identification on the body and are working with the coroner’s office to confirm. He said DNA samples and other samples will be sent out for further review.

The man reportedly was wearing a red “Killians Irish Red Lager” t-shirt and black cargo shorts when a CSX  freight train that was traveling westbound struck him outside the Langhorne Regional Rail Station around 2:40 a.m.

The engineer saw the man but was not able to stop the freight train, Bartorilla said.

“We’re leaning on this being a suicide but we’re not certain yet,” the chief said.
