
Falls Township has welcomed a new police officer to its force.
William Tanner,ย a married father of three who graduated from the Temple University Municipal Police Academy, had worked as a police officer in New Hope prior to beginning his work in Falls Township, according to officials.

Falls Township Chief Bill Wilcox was present for the event, where he also took time to inform the community of police happenings.
Falls, which has partnered with Towns Against Graffiti (TAG), plans to eliminate and remove township area graffiti as soon as possible.
According to Wilcox, police also plan to hold a seminar for Pennsbury bus drivers this summer to demonstrate how drivers should handle incidents of violence and the importance of drivers adhering to stop signs.

Wilcox also announced the department’s plans to began bike patrols as the warm weather becomes more regular.ย Currently five officers use bikes and more will begin to do so by the end of May, police said. The unexpected mode of transportation helps take suspects by surprise, police said.
Residents have also been warned the prevalence of thefts in the township during the spring and summer months. Wilcox reminded motorists to most importantly lock their doors.
