According to the probable cause affidavit, police officers responded to the call of a burglary in progress at 2:55 p.m. The defendants escaped before officers were on the scene, but a brief description of their vehicle gave police the necessary tools to find and track down the crooks before they got too far, authorities said.

Officers spotted the suspects’ red Ford Taurus getaway car as it turned from Veterans Highway (Route 413) onto I-95, according to court papers. Police said the vehicle stuck out because of body damage it had.

Police said they caught up with the defendants just before the Woodhaven exit from I-95 in Philadelphia. Bensalem officers assisted Bristol Township police during the vehicle stop.

The burglars left the home after causing $1,000 damage during breaking in. A number of items stolen from the home, including jewelry, alcohol and a laptop, were found in the red Ford that police stopped, according to court papers. The stolen items were valued at roughly $3,000.

Investigators said it appeared the suspects, who were also captured on home survalliance cameras, also tried to break in to a safe.

Through post apprehension interviews, the defendants admitted their involvement with the crime, a probable cause affidavit states.

All three subjects are being charged with overnight burglary, conspiracy, theft by unlawful removal of property, receiving stolen property, possession of an instrument of crime with the intent to use it, and criminal mischief. In total, each defendant is being charged with three felonies and three misdemeanors.

None of the subjects were able to post bail and are being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
