UPDATED: No Students Hurt In Crash Involving School Bus

UPDATED: Tuesday, 10:12 a.m.:

Pennsylvania State Police said 36 lacrosse players and one adult coach from Archbishop Ryan High School in Philadelphia were on the bus when it crashed into a construction barrier.

The bus driver, a 61-year-old Philadelphia woman, was checked for injuries.

There were no serious injuries after an incident involving a school bus on southbound I-95 in Bristol Township.

The incident happened on I-95 by New Falls Road around 7:30 p.m. The exact details of what transpired were not immediately released by Pennsylvania State Police.

Newportville Fire Company Chief Walt Prickett said his volunteers were called to the scene to assist troopers with removing about 30 school-aged lacrosse players from the bus. He said the students were off-loaded and transported back to their destination by another bus.

The bus driver was transported to the hospital by medics due to pain from the seatbelt, Prickett said.

Traffic was slowed for about an hour in the area of the crash.
