Police Lt. Terry Hughes said Brown’s death is suspected of being a drug overdose. He added that toxicology results were sent out by the coroner for testing.
According to a source in the district, Brown was found dead by janitors inside a bathroom after school hours. There were reportedly signs that indicated to first responders that drugs were involved.
Hughes said no students are believed to have come into contact with any drugs.

The death was reported to parents on Sunday. The district said they waited to alert parents to give police time to notify Brown’s family. LevittownNow.com was alerted to the incident Monday by several parents of FDR students.
“Recognizing the impact that her loss could have on the students she supported within the school, the District crisis team is on-site at FDR during this week to provide grief support and counseling. This service will also be extended to faculty members,” a statement from the district said.
