Falls Township police reported that a number of residents have been receiving scam calls.
According Lt. Hank Ward, residents are being called by someone with a foreign accent claiming to be from the IRS. The person on the phone claims the IRS is owned money and then asks the victims for their social security number.

The IRS will never conduct business over the phone and would “surely already know your social security number,” Ward said.
“Do not release any information over the phone to anyone about your date of birth, social security number, or any of your account numbers,” he said.
Residents who received these calls are asked to call police to report them.
