In celebration of its municipal building renovations, and in honor of late council president Bob Lewis, Bristol Township Council has renamed its chambers.
Council announced last Wednesday evening during a special dedication that the newly renovated council chambers will bear the name “Robert Lewis Jr. Council Chambers.”

Lewis, who was a life-long resident of the area, passed away in March of natural causes after serving the community for over four decades. He was 76.
Lewis served as a commissioner for the township in the 1970s and 1980s, mayor of the town in the 1990s, and a member of council from 2010 until his passing earlier this year.
Attending the dedication were members of Lewisโ family as well as long-time friend, Senior Judge Clyde W. Waite.

โBob was a true leader of the community and an irreplaceable friend,โ said Council President Craig Bowen. “Dedicating the room in his honor was the least the township could do.
A plaque with Lewisโ image will be hung in the chamber announcing the dedication.
