After several months, Spring Street in Bristol Borough is close to reopening following a partial building collapse.

Recently, Bristol Borough Council voted to hire E & K Construction Services of Bensalem to clean up the debris on Spring Street and shore up the partially collapsed wall at 847 Pine Street. The work ended up costing the borough roughly $11,000.

Borough officials have said previously they hoped to the owner’s insurance company take care of the work. However, the home has been foreclosed on and the road has remained debris strewn and closed since February.

The outer wall of the circa-1917 rowhome collapsed months after borough zoning officials condemned the dwelling.

An inspection earlier this year showed the rowhome was able to be salvaged.
