Carjacking Suspect Taken Into Custody

A former high school football standout police allege stole merchandise from a store and carjacked a 65-year-old man while running from officers was taken into custody over the weekend.

Eric Reynolds, 25,of Warminster, was arraigned Saturday on charges including robbery of a motor vehicle, robbery, simple assault, conspiracy and related offenses. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on a retail theft charge out of Middletown.

A Falls police official told LevittownNow.com Reynolds was arrested in Philadelphia and released to their custody early Saturday.

According to court papers, Reynolds was involved in a retail theft at the Target store on East Lincoln Highway in Middletown around 1:15 p.m. on Friday, October 2. He then got into a car driven by another man and left the scene.

After a police radio broadcast, a Falls officer began following a car with Reynolds in the passenger seat on Lincoln Highway.

The car was pulled over at the BJ’s Gas Station on Commerce Boulevard. As Reynolds and the driver were being detained, the 25 year old darted off. He eluded officers by jumping over fences, police said.

Police wrote in court papers that Reynolds carjacked the 65-year-old man in a 2014 black Subaru Forester with Connecticut plates at the Residence Inn on Cabot Boulevard.

Reynolds was once a standout Central Bucks South High School’s football team. After graduating, he was convicted of robbing two women at gunpoint outside the Walmart in Upper Moreland, Montgomery County in 2010. He blamed the robbery on a heroin addiction.

Reynolds was sent to Bucks County prison on 10 percent of $250,000 bail.
