The Middletown Board of Supervisors has approved plans that will add a Starbucks and AT&T cell phone store to the business corridor along East Lincoln Highway.

The board recently approved both preliminary and final land development for the project at 1501 East Lincoln Highway in the Langhorne Square Shopping Center.

According to meeting minutes, the project will include construction of a 3,350-square-foot building in the parking lot of Bob’s Discount Furniture and Floor and Decor. The building will house the Starbucks, which will have a drive-thru, and the AT&T Store.

Variances for the Starbucks drive-thru and it’s potential hours of operation – 5 a.m. until midnight – were also approved.

Thomas Hecker, the attorney for the shopping center developer, said a traffic impact estimate shows the new businesses should not cause any major impacts on East Lincoln Highway. In the end, the developer agreed to pay Middletown $18,008 for a traffic impact fee.
