In addition to the Italian Day Festival taking place at the Bristol Wharf, the Mill Street Run is scheduled for Saturday morning.
The run, now in its 48th year, is organized and run by the longtime area resident John Mundy. According to Mundy, the race was started to provide “an unusual and unique experience for the runners.”
Three separate startsย will allow different groups to compete throughout the morning. A high school girl’s varsity race will commence at 8:30 a.m., a high school boy’s varsity race will commence at 9:15 a.m. and the open race will commence at 9:45 a.m.

Pre-entry is $15 and post-entry on the day of the race is $20.
All of the proceeds from the race go towards the Bucks County Rescue Squad. According to Mundy, the rescue squad has been a strong supporter of the race for a long time, often times having an ambulance nearby on the day of the race in case something goes wrong.
In the early days, the race was 3.8 miles and was basically a course around the town. Now, it is 3.1 miles, or five kilometers. The goal has been to provide a consistent running experience yearly, Mundy said.
