World War II veterans were honored at last Monday’s Middletown Township Board of Supervisors meeting.
Each soldier was given a certificate for their dedication to their country and Board Chairman Pat Mallon commented on the state of affairs that soldiers seem to face today.

“We are losing a natural resource in this country,” Mallon said to a packed house at the township’s municipal building. “Very few generations are called to protect our liberty at a time of our country’s gravest danger. And we are honoring these men and women for their service.” Mallon, a war veteran himself, commented on the legacy often left with soldiers, the same soldiers who watched their friends and family, approximately 400,000, die in World War II.
“They say ‘old soldiers never die – they fade away.’
Well this township will make sure the memory of these soldiers never fades away.”
