Robert Maurer, 36, is expected to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of burglary, DUI while driving with a suspended driver’s license, theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal trespassing and receiving stolen property. An arrest warrant was filed by investigators on Monday.

At 6:21 a.m. Monday, Falls Township officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Dover Drive to investigate an overnight burglary and vehicle theft. Officers learned a 1996 Ford Taurus was missing along with a wallet and several other items, according to court papers.

As the investigation into the Falls crimes was underway, Bristol Township police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Millcreek and Edgely roads around 8:15 a.m. Monday after a caller reported a man stole his running truck at a gas station.

Responding officers spoke with the truck owner, who said the man who took his vehicle was bleeding from the face and stated he was hurt in a accident. A gas station attendant noted the vehicle theft suspect was looking around a dumpster and left a wallet in the area of a trash can, according to court papers.

Officers found the wallet, which was determined to be connected to the overnight burglary that happened on Dover Drive in Falls Township. A bloody $100 bill was also found in the dumpster, police said.

Around the same time, officers were alerted that a vehicle was spotted off the roadway in the 2500 block of Millcreek Road. Once the vehicle was removed, it was determined to be the one taken from the Dover Drive burglary scene, police said.

The vehicle and items from two separate burglaries were processed by the Falls Township Police Department, court papers stated.
