A 43-year-old Bensalem man charged this week with allegedly abusing a dog has done it before, according to law enforcement and court records.
Christopher George was charged by Falls Township police with abusing his then-girlfriend’s boxer over the course of several months in 2014. While the dog lived with George, it lost weight, suffered cuts, had 23 broken ribs, a puncture wound and bloody paws, among other injuries. A police official told LevittownNow.com the dog is still recovering from the injuries.

In the early part of the last decade, George kicked three puppies to death and severely injured a fourth in Northampton, according to Pet-Abuse.com. Bucks County Humane Society Police Officer Nikki Thompson confirmed the website’s report to LevittownNow.com.
Court documents show George pleaded guilty to cruelty to animals in 2003. He served house arrest, probation and paid fees.
The previous case and most recent case have similar narratives, Thompson said.

In both cases, George was in a relationship with a woman when the abuse allegedly began. Both women ended their relationships with George around the time they began to suspect he was abusing the dogs.
Thompson said the previous officer who investigated the case kept detailed notes on the incident that she has reviewed.

Falls police and Thompson’s most recent investigation led to this week’s felony charge of cruelty to animals to be filed against the 43-year-old truck driver.
George was arraigned by District Judge Jan Vislosky for his latest case and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
