And if you’re looking to check out the township’s recent purchase – a street sweeper -you’ll have the chance to do that too. The street sweeper along with a dump truck with a plow will be available for resident viewing. According to a press release, the Parks and Recreation Department along with the Codeย Enforcement office will be around to answer questions and provide general information.

The tour of the municipal building is in response to backlash the township has received over building a new municipal complex. According to a press release, staff now work in a “cramped, communal area with little to no privacy, limited meeting space and in a building that was never designed to serve as a municipal complex.”

The supervisors continue to work with architects on plans for a new, approximately 30 percent larger complex which will houseย governmental operations, as well as the police department, code enforcement, public works, parks and recreation and meeting space. Theย new township municipal complex, which does not have a beginning construction and completion date, would be situated on the opposite side of the parking lot in the field across from the current township building on Lincoln Highway.

According to the township, the municipal building project would be funded solely through Waste Management tipping fees and “would not cost taxpayers a penny.” The project itself is estimated to cost $15 million.
