Police and the Bucks County Health Department are working with the Bristol Township School District following a Tuesday incident which the district’s top administrator called “disturbing.”

According to a statement from the district:

A student within our school was supplied with a finger stick test, a device typically used to test glucose levels in patients with diabetes, by another student.  Following receipt of the device, the student used the finger stick to poke other FDR students throughout the course of the day. Because the poking typically occurred in crowded situations, many students were not aware of the incident. Only one student reported that skin had been broken.

The device allegedly used to prick students is known as a “finger stick” and draws a small amount of blood for medical testing.

Superintendent Dr. Sam Lee said the students were in “no imminent danger from this incident.”

“Disciplinary actions have been taken against the two students involved with this incident,” Lee’s statement said.

According to parents, police and medics were at the scene late Tuesday afternoon.

A police official was not immediately available for comment.
