NEARBY: World War II Victory 70th Anniversary Event Planned For Sunday

The Veterans Square Foundation will be hosting a World War II commemoration event this weekend.

The event, which will honor the 70th anniversary of the allied victory, will take place Sunday May 3 at 3 p.m. in the Masonic Lodge in Lower Makefield. The lodge is directly across the street from Veterans Square at the corner of Edgewood and Heacock Road.

The event will feature Emmy-nominated Filmmaker Robert Child. Child will discuss three films he created which discuss little-known stories of World War II heroism. A panel of discussion with three war veterans will also take place.

While admission will cost $5 for adults, the educational event is completely free for students. All proceeds benefit the maintenance of the Veterans Square Monument.
