Cops: Domestic Dispute With An Armed Man Brings Police Out To Birch Valley

An ongoing domestic dispute in Falls Township ended with one man in police custody.

Phillip Culley, 30, of Levittown, was charged with three misdemeanors including terroristic threats, harassment, and disorderly conduct in an early Tuesday morning domestic incident in Birch Valley.

Police say they were called to an incident on Buttonwood Lane involving Culley shortly before 1 a.m.

According to a probable cause affidavit,ย police found Culley, who was reportedly armed, in theย backyard of aย residence. Culley told police that the incident had been a result of an “ongoing” domestic dispute with his girlfriend.

According to reports, after Culley began seeing another woman, his girlfriend beganย staying with friends a few houses down. An argument, which began between Culley and his girlfriend on Sunday, had been ongoing since. According to court documents, their argument Sunday resulted in numerous calls to police.

The homeowners with whom his girlfriend was staying with told police Culley had called themย since his girlfriend’s phone had been turned off. When they answered, he reportedly told them he was “coming up to their residence, and shooting him, his girlfriend and their children.”

Police later recovered a 380 handgun, AR-14 rifle and a 40 caliber Glock, all of which were owned by the defendant, according to court papers.

Culley was arraigned by District Judge Jan Vislosky and released on 10 percent of $50,000 bail. He awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 6.
