Two police officials suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a suspected shoplifter fought them, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Police allege that Gerald Alan Lee, 33, of Levittown, shoplifted a bottle of women’s perfume, worth $108, from the Sephora within the J.C. Penney store inside the Oxford Valley Mall Tuesday afternoon. A short time later, the 33-year-old tried to return the perfume, authorities said.

When approached by a loss prevention official from the store, Lee left his Pennsylvania identification card with a clerk as he fled, according to court papers.
As an officer and a detective were trying to take Lee into custody as he got into his Chevrolet, Lee kept holding onto a black bag and concealing his other hand, police said.
Lee was found to have four hypodermic needles in the black bag, court papers say.

Lee has previously been convicted of retail theft and was recently charged in Philadelphia.
The 33 year old was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and single counts of retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned and remanded to Bucks County lockup on 10 percent of $100,000 bail. Lee is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing before District Judge John J. Kelly Jr. on May 7.
