Police in New Jersey say a Langhorne man left a statue of a human-like figure holding a gun in bushes outside of a gas station over the weekend.
The statue, which was placed in bushes outside the Burlington, New Jersey Gulf station, caused a stir on social media after a video was posted. The statue appears to show a person in a burqa carrying a firearm.

According to police, a resident alerted them to the social media post and officers responded to the gas station on Route 130. The statue was removed by police.
According to a police press release:
Once the gas station opened, BCPD Detectives spoke to the owner, Gurmeet Singh, and the employees of the gas station. Mr. Singh nor the employees had any knowledge of the statue being in the bushes on the side of the road and was appalled by what they observed. They do not know why a person would place something of that sort on their property. In addition, where the statue was located was out of the view of the employee work area and not visible from the gas pumps
On Monday, a 37 year old Langhorne man took responsibility for leaving the statue.

“The individual has no connection to the business and no intentions to negatively affect the operations of the Burlington Gulf Station,” police said.
The man will not be charged with any crimes.
