After losing their fields – the Bucks County Legends finally have a place to play ball.
The traveling baseball organization met with the Bristol Township Council on Wednesday night – where they were given permission to use the vacant fields along Coates Avenue.

According to President Mike Cox, the organization is “different” and after losing their fields, he refused to give up on the team. Cox has also appeared before the township’s school board to try to secure playing fields.
“If I quit trying to get these kids fields now, then I’m a hypocrite. These kids are our future,” Cox said.
Three hours after calling Council President Craig Bowen, the promise of the fields along Coates was a real possibility, now with the approval of the rest of council, the team will have fields just in time for the start of baseball season.

The fields along Coates Avenue need work because they haven’t been used by little league teams in years, but that won’t stop the Bucks County Legends.
“We know it needs work,” Cox said. “But it’s nothing we’re afraid of, we’re not afraid of hard work.”

The organization which makes it’s players sign a code of conduct, maintain a B average, and provide volunteer service to the Bristol Township was established in 2010 with the idea of “giving kids the opportunity to play baseball at a higher level,” according to Cox.
