The Middletown Township Board of Supervisors held a community open house on Saturday.

The event featured numerous events to educate and familiarize the public with the local government of Middletown.

Events included a scavenger hunt for kids, a “touch a truck” eventย where kids could explore township the township fleet, police department tours and an open house with representatives from various department, as well as a local art exhibit.

“We’re using this event to launch our Local Government Month celebration,” said Township Manager Stephanie Teoli-Kuhls.

According to Teoli-Kuhls, the board will proclaim April as local government month at their next regular board meeting.

“This event lets our volunteers and firefighters get the opportunity to show that they are proud of our township,” explained board member Drew Kreiling.

The rest of local government month includes other events aimed at educating and familiarizing residents of the townshipย with local government including Middletown at the Mall on April 9, and a Girl Scout Flag Program on April 13.
