The Bristol Township School Board voted last week not to raise taxes past the Act 1 limit of 2.4 percent.

According to the Superintendent Dr. Samuel Lee, the 2.4 percent equals a potential revenue of $1.8 million.

The motion passed by the board ensures that taxes cannot be raised passed this point.

Concerns among the board were raised, the main question being: “can we maintain everything?” During the interaction, Lee was noted, “We will try, and we will be challenged,” in regards to keeping the current budget without an increases in taxes.

The vote passed with a vote of seven to one.

In 2014, the board voted to approve a tax increase that would hit theย  to the 2.7 Act 1 limit.

The school district’s 2015-2016 budget has to be approved by June 30.
