Two new after school programs will be coming to the Bristol Borough School District in February.
The programs, adopted at Thursday night’s school board meeting, will offer students between grades one and eight after school activities.

The goal of the programs is to get as many children involved as possible, according to Board President John D’Angelo. “We’re trying to get as many kids involved as we can,” said D’Angelo.
A program assisting students in completing their homework will be available to children in grades six, seven, and eight. According to the program proposal, about 20 children from each grade would be accepted for a total of roughly 60 children. Children will be served on a first come first serve basis.
Students from the younger grades will have access to an after school science program. Specific details on the science program were not available at the time of press.

The programs, running for about an hour a day, will run for nine days in Feb., 14 days in March, 10 days in April, and nine days in May for a total of 42 days of after school programming.ย Both programs will run on an identical schedule.
The total cost of the two programs will be $11,453.00, although a large portion of the burden will be alleviated through grants, and will be held at the Snyder-Girotti Middle School. The program will run for an extra hour after school, from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
More specific information will be made available to children at school, said D’Angelo during the meeting.
