A Bristol Township man had the most serious charges against him dropped this week.
Anthony H. Bupp, 19, of Croydon, had charges of statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and sexual assault withdrawn Tuesday by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office in exchange for a plea deal. Two counts of corruption of a minor were waived on to Doylestown for trial before District Judge Joanne Kline, court records show.

According to court papers, Bupp was investigated in October after a tip from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. The call was reported to an abuse tipline and alleged a 15-year-old was raped by Bupp in August.
The girl told detectives the two had sex several times and claimed she was pregnant with what is suspected to Bupp’s baby, court papers say. Bupp reportedly admitted to knowing he was four years older than the girl.
On October 13, Bupp and a 16-year-old girl ran away from Newtown and were found several days later in Myrtle Beach, S.C. after a search by Newtown police.
