Eight Neshaminy High School students will be charged following a sexting investigation by law enforcement.
The eight students will be charged with a summary citation, Middetown Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla said via email Thursday evening. It was not immediately clear what the charge will be.

The news comes after Middletown police and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office wrapped up their investigation into the incident that was first reported by LevittownNow.com on October 31.
“The cases will all be referred to the Bucks County Youth Aid Panel,” Bartorilla said.
District officials said in fall that several students at the high school “allegedly possessed inappropriate photo texts of a sexual nature.” Police said the photos are reported to be nude images of students.

Neshaminy officials said at the time the nude photos were reported by students who saw the sexual images on the cellphones of classmates.
The district statement from fall noted administration would “render appropriate disciplinary action pending the outcome of the investigation.”

The district said they would be notifying parents of the students involved as the investigation moved forward.
Bartorilla said police will not be releasing the names of the students.
