A 28-year-old Philadelphia man is accused of driving intoxicated and then trying to bribe the Bristol Township police officer that pulled him over.
Luis Manuel Alvarado was pulled over at 12:55 a.m. Monday morning by Officer Jason Mancuso in the area of Veterans Highway (Route 413) and Winder Drive.

The officer noted in court papers the Ford Alvarado was driving did not have headlights or rear lights on and was swerving.
After walking up to Alvarado’s vehicle, Mancuso noted the 28-year-old had a “strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person,” court papers say. An open 24-pack of Miller Lite was also reportedly spotted on the floor of the car.
Alvarado was asked to step out of the vehicle.

“Cut me a break I have money,” Alvarado allegedly told the officer as he pulled out several hundred dollars in $20 bills.
Police said the defendant was having trouble standing and was placed into custody.

Alvarado was transported to Lower Bucks Hospital for a blood draw.
It was determined Alvarado did not have a license to operate a motor vehicle, according to court documents.
Alvarado was charged Monday morning with bribery, DUI and several related offenses. District Judge Joanne Kline arraigned the 28-year-old and set his bail at 10 percent of $15,000.
