Penndel Borough Council Vice President Sue Anderson stepped down from her seat last month.

Anderson announced her December 31 resignation at the December 22 meeting.

After questions from the public on why she was stepping down, Anderson said added responsibilities at her job have left her less time to focus on the business of the borough.

“I need to get off this merry go round and let someone else ride,” Anderson told the public.

The borough council has until the end of January to appoint someone to fill Anderson’s seat.

Residents interested in filling Anderson spot on the council will have to submit a letter of interest to the borough.

In August, councilwoman Debbie Gentile stepped down because she was planning to move out of town. Shortly after, former councilwoman Barbara Heffelfinger was appointed to the seat vacated by Gentile.
