PECO crews were able to fix a natural gas leak in Bristol Township on Wednesday.

PECO spokesperson Ben Armstrong said contractors working in the area of Route 13 and the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority facility struck a 1.25-inch high pressure natural gas line around 11:15 a.m. The strike initially believed to be on a 4 inch main.
Crews were able to shut off service and work on repairs with no major interruption in service, Armstrong said.
The contractors that hit the gas line were working in an area that PECO crews reported did not have visible utility line markings. Armstrong said anyone preparing to dig should call 8-1-1 before they do so.

Fire and PECO crews were called to a gas leak in the 7900 block of Route 13 (Bristol Pike) late Wednesday morning.

A four-inch high pressure natural gas main was struck in the area of Route 13 and the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority facility in Bristol Township, PECO spokesperson Ben Armstrong said.
The main was struck by a contractor who was not working for PECO, and the utility company was alerted around 11:15 a.m., Armstrong said.
The spokesman reported PECO crews arrived to the scene at noon and currently assessing repairs. If it is determined the main needs to be shut off, only one customer would be impact, Armstrong told LevittownNow.com.
