Bristol Township-based State Rep. Tina Davis was re-elected with 70.6 percent of the votes on Tuesday.

The Democrat said she was happy to have been re-elected, but “it’s not fun winning when no one else does.” Her comment referenced the countywide loss of fellow Democratic candidates.

“They all worked really hard,” Davis said of her peers.
Davis received 10,232 votes and Republican Joseph Lippolis had 4,260.
“People in the district are pretty loyal and they remember if you are kind to them or help them,” Davis said.

Lippolis said he felt it was his civic duty to run and was pleased to see people on both sides of the fence came out to vote, even if it wasn’t for him.
The small business owner said early Wednesday morning that he planed to call Davis later in the morning to concede the race for the 141st Legislative District.

“I plan to stay involved in the community. [Losing the election] doesn’t make or break me in my life scheme,” he said. “I hope [Davis] will work to represent every single person.”
Davis said this race felt like she was “starting all over again” because of redistricting. As part of her new district Davis had to work to woo voters from a portion of Middletown and all of Hulmeville and Penndel.
“It’s back to work tomorrow,” she said.
