‘Philadelphia: The Great Experiment’ To Be Screened at Pennsbury Manor


The Pennsbury Society will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, November 2 at Pennsbury Manor in Falls Township between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Sam Katz, the executive producer of the Emmy award winning series Philadelphia: The Great Experiment, will be the guest speaker of the event. The event will include an explanation of the role that Pennsbury Manor played in the series, as well as a screening of parts six and seven of the series.

The years and events covered in the episodes being shown include between 1600 and 1720, and tell the stories of the original inhabitants of the area, including the Lenni Lenape. This event is free and open to the general public, said provided information.

According to information provided, “Pennsbury Manor is the 17th century reconstructed country estate of William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania. Situated on the Delaware River, this 43-acre estate offers a Manor House, outbuildings including; a bake and brew, smokehouse, workers cottage, stables with period animals, joyners shop, blacksmith shop, formal and kitchen gardens, and a gift shop.”
