According to court papers, Potts had “sexually explicit” conversations with teen girls living in different parts of the country and in Canada. The girls were all between the ages of 13 and 16, according to court papers.
Potts talked to the teens about various sex acts, authorities said.
Files containing child pornography and erotica were also found on the phone, police said.

Potts’ alleged illicit activity was discovered by a family member in February after the 45-year-old was taken to the hospital and left his phone at home.
Police said Potts used messaging apps Kik and Skout to talk with the girls.

Potts, a former truck driver, is a tier II Megan’s Law offender following a conviction for unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility for an incident more than a decade ago in Sellersgrove. According to state police, tier II offenders have to register as an offender for 25 years and check in with authorities twice a year.
The family member told police they knew they had to report what they had seen on the phone because he was fearful another child could end up getting hurt.
Potts remains in jail and will be sentenced in the coming weeks. Fritch deferred Potts’s sentencing was for 90 days until the Sexual Offenders Assessment Board can determine if the 45-year-old is a sexually violent predator.
