Croydon Man Killed in Bensalem Accident

A 23-year-old resident of Bristol Township’s Croydon section was killed Monday morning in a Bensalem crash.

Michael Baronofsky was in a Honda Civic traveling southbound on State Road at the intersection of State Road when he was involved in a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer at 7:10 a.m., police said. The tractor-trailer was reported to be turning left onto Street Road.

Despite a quick response from Bensalem first responders, Baronofsky was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the truck was unhurt and was cooperating with authorities, police said.

“At this time, the cause of the accident is under investigation but drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been a factor,” a police statement read.

The intersection where the fatal crash happened is expected to be closed until noon.
