
UPDATE: Police Say Murder Happened In Falls Twp., Not Morrisville

District Attorney David Heckler said a decision on charges against the two men police have in custody would be made late Sunday night. He added that police investigation confirmed the men were engaged in “criminal activity.”

The third possible suspect in beating death was not in custody as of 8 p.m. Sunday, Heckler said.
Morrisville police along with members of the Bucks County Detectives remained at the West Post Avenue crime scene into the afternoon.
The Bucks County Coroner’s Office took possession of the victim’s body around mid-day and were expected to conduct an autopsy. Chief of Police George McClay said the victim did suffer head trauma and stab wounds.

Several items of evidence were discovered near the scene, according to police. A screwdriver was among the items discovered.
Heckler said interpreters were being used to communicate with the two Hispanic men in custody. Both men were reported to be cooperative.

Investigators collected surveillance video from the church nearby the crime scene and spoke with a man who was drinking coffee outside a Ohio Avenue when the fatal assault happened , McClay said.
A church official told LevittownNow.com the building has 16 cameras and all video was turned over to detectives.
Officials said they believe they have identified all of the people involved.

A man was beaten to death on West Post Road in Morrisville Sunday morning.

The victim, who was in his 30s, was assaulted around 8:30 a.m. just past Christian Temple Jireh, according to police.
Medics rushed to man to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown where he was pronounced dead, Morrisville Borough Chief of Police George McClay said.

The murder happened on the Morrisville side of the border with Falls Township.
Two “persons of interest” were taken into custody by police shortly after the incident, McClay said. Sources said one man was arrested in a white van that McClay confirmed was connected to the crime and another man ran before being into custody.

Bucks County Detectives and Morrisville police were preparing to interview the two “persons of interest” as of 10:30 a.m.
The chief said officers were continuing to search the area to see if there was a third person involved.
The fatal assault was believed to be captured by surveillance video, but detectives still have to confirm that, McClay said. An investigator at the scene said they were attempting to get access to the camera footage.

Falls, Lower Makefield and Morrisville police were searching the underbrush area near the murder scene. A Falls K-9 unit and an officer with a patrol rifle were spotted walking around the temple. McClay confirmed a New Jersey State Police helicopter was called in to observe the area near the crime scene from above.
A crime scene investigation vehicle from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office arrived at the scene around 11 a.m.

A temple member told LevittownNow.com there was no connection between the murder and the temple.
Police closed Post Avenue in the area of Ohio Avenue.
