Route 13 Traffic Lanes to be Reconfigured

The area of route 13 between Levittown Parkway and Green Lane will be reconfigured, PennDOT announced.

The work will occur on Monday, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The reconfiguration will include new traffic lines, re positioned traffic signs,and traffic signals to shift traffic to the newly completed outside traffic lanes.

According to information released by PennDOT, “Following the traffic pattern switch, PennDOTโ€™s contractor will remove the center median, rehabilitate existing deteriorated concrete, improve drainage, install mountable curb, install grass in the newly constructed median on Route 13 and resurface the highway.”

The whole project is improving travel conditions along the 4.3 mile stretch of Route 13 from 413 to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Projects being undertaken include fixing up deteriorating pavement, ย fixing bridges, replacing drainage facilities from the 1940s, as well as constructing sidewalks, removing jug handles, and installing medians.

Theย  $36,527,577 contract is being carried out by James D. Morrissey construction out of Philadelphia. and is being totally financed by federal funds.

The estimated finish date for the project is July 2016.
