According to the Lower Bucks Joint Municipal Authority, flushing of fire hydrants in areas featuring a Levittown mailing address – made up of parts of Falls, Bristol Twp., Middletown and Tullytown – will be starting this week.

The work will take place sometime between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Crews will start their work on October 7 and expect to finish by October 24.

Most flushing only disrupts service for about an hour.

The LBJMA says residents in the neighborhoods where hydrants are being flush can expect to see their water slightly discolored during the process. Officials discourage using the discolored water for drinking, cooking or cleaning.
