Court papers filed Wednesday reveal more on a vehicle theft and police chase that started in Falls Township and ended in Middletown Township last week.

Vincent Ferliano, 20, of Philadelphia, was arraigned Wednesday afternoon on charges of aggravated assault, receiving stolen property, fleeing and eluding police, resisting arrest, driving at an unsafe speed and related offenses on Wednesday afternoon before District Judge Daniel Baranoski.

Ferliano was charged last week with stealing a running Jeep from the parking lot of the 7-Eleven in the 8600 block of New Falls Road early Friday morning. Police said a GPS tracking app on an iPhone left in the Jeep helped officers locate the stolen vehicle.

The new charges involve the portion of the chase that happened once Ferliano allegedly drove into Middletown.
Court papers say a Middletown officer sitting on a break in a shopping center on East Lincoln Highway heard about the theft via the police radio and then spotted the Jeep driving past.

Officers rushed up to the Jeep when it was stopped at an intersection with their weapons drawn, but Ferliano drove off, according to court papers.
The chase went throughout Middletown onto Maple Avenue (Route 213) and on Wheeler Way, where police used spikes to deflate one tire, according to court papers. With a deflated tire, Ferliano kept driving and went back onto East Lincoln Highway and through Highland Park, police said.

The chase went through the Middletown Public Works Department building grounds on Veterans Highway (Route 413) where Ferliano is accused of striking a police car.
“The Jeep pushed passed 44-19 (the struck police car) and continued back onto Verterans Highway northbound,” the affidavit of probable cause reads.
The chase ended nearby on Veterans Highway, police said.

The 20 year old is alleged to have struggled with police while they tried to arrest him.
Court papers say Ferliano did not have a valid drivers’ license.

He is currently in Bucks County prison unable to post the bail set in both cases.
