A pregnant former Falls Township resident was shot dead in Philadelphia Sunday morning.

Megan Doto, 26, was shot on Adams Avenue in Philadelphia while was she near the home she shared with her boyfriend, according to media reports. She later was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital.

As of Sunday evening, media reports varied on whether the baby was deceased or alive. NBC 10 quoted Doto’s girlfriend as saying the baby had died at the hospital and 6abc said family of the 26-year-old said the baby was in critical condition.
The Philadelphia Daily News reported Doto was not the intended target of the shooting.

“She was not the intended target; she was just unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Philadelphia police Captain Stephen Murianka told the newspaper.
Doto was watching two neighborhood kids when the shooting happened, NBC 10 reported.
No arrests have been made in the case.

CBS Philly reported police were interviewing neighbors in their search to solve the fatal shooting.
Doto reportedly moved out Falls Township’s Morrisville section about a year ago and moved to the city.
