The American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter is assisting a family displaced after an electrical fire.

The Red Cross is assisting residents of a mobile home on Lawson Drive in the Morrisville section of Falls Township after an overnight fire.

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito told LevittownNow.com a minor electrical fire was caused by heat tape, which is electric-heated padding that surrounds water pipes, malfunctioned. The fire damage was relatively minor but power to the mobile home was turned off until PECO could come check everything out, he said.
The Red Cross also assisted this week with opening a shelter in nearby Tullytown for those impacted by storm-related blackouts.
