Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the fire was caused by an electrical wire failure in a second-floor living space. The living space was in a former attic.

The fire marshal said the blaze heavily damaged the house and the two residents were displaced.

A house in Bristol Township’s Croydon section suffered heavy fire damage Sunday afternoon.

The fire happened in the 1000 block of First Avenue around 2:20 p.m. Arriving firefighters reported heavy flames coming from the home, Croydon Fire Company Chief Tom Tryon said.
The blaze appeared to have started in a second-floor bedroom and the fire marshal is investigating as of 4:30 p.m., Tryson said

Two people were inside the home and was able to escape. No injuries were reported.
By 2:50 p.m., the fire was reported to be under control.
Representatives from the American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania said they were responding to help two people displaced by the fire. The Red Paw Relief Team said they were on call and prepared to help two dogs and a cat also displaced.
