Voters were confused by an unexpected change to a voting district at Franklin D. Roosevelt Middle School in Bristol Township.

According to a woman who went to the school to vote around mid-morning Tuesday, her regular polling place inside a classroom in the middle school was moved, and little, if any, signage was up to alert voters.

“It was confusing and a long walk for people with bad legs,” she said. “There was a man who directed me to the right spot to vote. Thank God for him.”
Director of the Bucks County Board of Elections Deena Dean said she was made aware of the issue at the school. She said the problem came about after building staff had the venue moved from a music room across the school to the cafeteria. She added the school has two voting districts and one used to vote in the music room and the ofter in the cafeteria.

An election official at the school told LevittownNow.com a handmade sign up put up and county officials came around 2 p.m. and put up an official sign pointing to the location change.

Larry Rhoades, who was working the polls, said he directed confused voters to the changing polling location.
“A lot of people were confused,” Rhoades said. “I had to fish people from the parking lot and tell them to go over there.”

An official working the polls at the school said the district being moved caused voters, many elderly, to have to taker a longer than usual walk.
