A Levittown woman was killed last week in a chain-reaction crash involving a tractor-trailer in northeastern Pennsylvania, state police said.

The crash occurred around 3:52 p.m. along West Harford Street near Seventh Street in Milford Borough, Pike County, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers said a blue 2006 Freightliner truck pulling a semi-trailer was heading south on West Harford Street when the driver lost control near the intersection.
The rig hit a vehicle in the 300 block before continuing down the road and striking several other vehicles, state police said.

Laine Matthews, 75, of Levittown, suffered fatal injuries in the crash, state police said.
Multiple people were injured in the wreck, but troopers did not immediately state how many people were hurt or their injuries.

State police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as a Central Islip, New York, man.
As of late last week, no charges have been filed.
Local business owner Lucas Florentin described the scene in an interview with WNEP-TV.
“It was very shocking. I wonder how much damage was done. When I went over to the main street, it was just, almost out of a movie. Just the disaster, just the chaos,” Florentin told the station.

The crash knocked out power across three municipalities, according to Pike County Light and Power.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, according to state police.

Investigators with the Pennsylvania State Police Troop R Forensic Services Unit and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialist Unit were called to the scene. Crews assisting included the Milford Borough Police Department, the Milford Fire Department, and the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
