In February, Donna Palmer told LevittowNow.com the murder of her son, Joseph Britton, 30, ย was something ย a mother couldn’t fix.ย
On Friday, two people were charged in connection with the violent beating death of Britton, and for the moment, Philadelphia police have “fixed” the situation, Britton- Palmer said late Monday night following the arrests ofย Krista McDevitt, 24, of Bristol, and Ian Pawlowic, 21, of Philadelphia.

Each suspect was charged on Friday by Philadelphia police with. The two are being held without bail.
Palmer said Detective Harkins called “Friday at 4:49 p.m” with the news that the two suspects “confessed” to killing her son.
McDevitt has been eyed in connection with the murder of 30-year-old Joseph Britton ofย Bristol Townshipโs Levittown section for several months, according to sources with knowledge of the investigation. McDevitt is Britton’s ex-girlfriend.

Sources also indicate additional arrests are in expected in the case “soon.”
City police responded to reports of a person screaming and being struck with a baseball bat at around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, September 15 in Philadelphiaโs Wissinoming section. Upon arrival, officers found Britton with head trauma that ended up killing him. The 30-year-old was found slumped over the driverโs side of a blue Hyundai Tiburon, police said.

โWe were in the car on Friday night ย driving home and Joey gets a call and tells them โIโll be there in 20 minutes,โโ Hilgendorff told LevittownNow.com in February. โAfter we got home, Joey said he had to run some errands and asked to borrow the car, which I said sure.โ
โThe next morning I get up and have missed calls from a number I donโt recognize, call it back and its Detective Harkins telling me Joey was killed,โย Hilgendorff said.
A reward was offered in the case, however, it is unclear if that will be claimed.

“Why is what I want to know,” said ย Plamer. “Its senseless, it really is.”
Britton’s younger sister, Brandi Schmitz, said Tuesday night: “Now they (the suspects) will have to answer to God, not me.”

McDevitt is being held at Philadelphia’s Riverside Correctional Facility and Pawlowic is currently behind bars at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility.
