Philadelphia police are continuing to investigate the brutal murder of 30-year-old Joseph Britton, according to a department spokesperson.
Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokesperson, said there have been no arrest yet. She added that case remains “active.”

City police told NBC 10 they responded to reports of a person screaming and being struck with a baseball bat at around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept 15 in Philadelphia’s Wissinoming section. Upon arrival, officers found Joseph Britton, 30, of Bristol Township’s Levittown section, with “severe head trauma,” Captain James Kimrey said.
At 1:30 a.m., first responders pronounced Britton, a resident of the 7000 block of Curtis Avenue in Bristol Township, dead. The 30-year-old was found slumped over the driver’s side of a blue Hyundai Tiburon, police said.

Police initially said they were searching for four suspects in connection with the murder. Investigators described the suspects as two black males, one white male and one Hispanic male traveling in a black car, possible a black Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows, the Philadelphia Metro Newspaper said in an article. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a car.
Russell said investigators are not yet certain why Britton was in the Wissinoming section of the city.
