Popular Cleaning Service Born Out of Job Search

Jennifer Burns, a 2007 graduate of Pennsbury High School, had just completed a four year nannying position and was beginning her search in the job market when she observed her grandmother’s cleaning crew meander through their home.

“I just had this thought to myself that starting my own cleaning business might be a really good idea,” she said.

The business which grew to become ‘Maid to Perfection’, began with Burns and her cousin Sabrina Lewis passing out upwards of 200 flyers throughout a few different communities in January of 2013. “We got our first call a couple days later during breakfast, and from there the calls just kept coming,” Burns stated.

What began as a way for Burns to make a ‘little extra pocket money’ has grown into a full fledged, legitimate business, a business which employs upwards of 10 people and cleans an average of 70 residential properties every month.

“I never anticipated we would all be where we are today, its really amazing,” Burns said with a smile.

Burns and her crew agree that what separates them from the larger, more household names in the residential cleaning industry is their ability to connect to their clients. “Every client we have we build a relationship with and they end up trusting us with more than we are there to do,” Ashley Paster, a Maid to Perfection employee stated.

Burns recalls numerous occasions where her and her crew stepped outside of their normal cleaning duties and assisted their clients with other things, including serving and catering for client parties.

“A lot of the people we all clean for are great people and that makes it so much more enjoyable,” Burns said.

Burns recalls the love and passion her and her employees all have for their clients, making it their priority to check on them even during times of weather storms and power outages. “I know for a fact that no other company checks on their elderly clients during a storm, and that separates us from the rest,” Burns said.

Beyond Maid to Perfections’ good repore among members in the community, and their willingness to help clients with whatever they can, Burns is proud to state that research is key in effectively cleaning and that all of her employees have been a part of a training program on the best products for different surfaces.

“We’re not just cleaning their house, we need to be knowledgeable about what we are using and what we are doing,” Burns stated.

Burns and all of her employees proudly talk about their job and say that passion is really what has kept this great business going. “We all decided to dedicate all of our time to this, and thats proved to really work. Every morning I wake up and I am happy to go to work,” Burns said with a smile.
