A 34-year-old man is in county jail on charges he robbed and assaulted a woman in Falls Township.
Police say Aaron Kauffman of the Morrisville section of Falls Township showed up to an apartment complex on Makefield Road around 6 p.m. Thursday after a woman reported the 34-year-old stole prescription medication, jewelry, cash for drugs, several credit cards an a cell phone, according to court records. In total, the items were valued at $5,580.

A few hours later, police were dispatched to the apartment for a reported assault. The woman and a another person told police Kauffman returned to the apartment and was asked to leave by the woman. He then became angry and entered the apartment through a sliding glass door. Kauffman and the woman got into a verbal confrontation that lead to a a physical altercation in a bedroom where the woman was punched and pushed, according to court papers.
About an hour later, Kauffman contacted the woman and witness, police said. The 34-year-old called and said he wanted various medications and stated if he did not get what he wants “something bad is going to happen to the two of them,” court papers read.
Kauffman was arraigned Friday afternoon on charges of burglary, theft, terrorist threats, simple assault and related offenses. According to county records, Kauffman is being held on 10 percent of $200,000 bail.
