As near-whiteout conditions hit the Levittown area Thursday morning, the National Weather Service adjusted their forecast for the area. Snow total predictions for the area have been updated to 10 to 14 inches.
As of 9:30 a.m., most streets were covered with snow. Highways like Route 1 and I-95 appeared snow covered but passable. PennDOT trucks were spotted plowing on I-95 in Bristol Township, which appeared nearly devoid of all car traffic. PennDOT said they have hundreds of crews throughout the Philadelphia region working to clear state roads.

Falls Township police removed 12 cars parked where they shouldn’t be during the snow emergency as of 7 a.m. Readers reported Bristol Township officials were ticketing cars for the same thing.
Several minor accidents and disabled vehicles were reported around the area due to snowy roads.
SEPTA officials told LevittownNow.com all city and suburban bus service remains suspended until further notice. Service was suspended starting at 10 a.m. due to deteriorating weather conditions with regional rail lines operating with up to 60 minute delays.

Days after power was restored to thousands in the dark following last week’s ice storm, PECO was only reporting a few dozen area outages as of 10:55 a.m.
The storm started before midnight and at least an inch was on the ground by 1 a.m. Forecasters say a pause will take place during the day and more snow will hit in the evening. Winds are expected to pick up as the day goes on. As of 9 a.m., a Langhorne resident reported more than 8 inches in their front yard and a Levittown resident reported 9 in their yard.
