Police say a Bucks County library card left behind in a car stolen after a gunpoint carjacking was 32-year-old Barry Moyer’s downfall.

According to court papers, a Middletown Township detective was able to use the card to identify the Trevose man accused of carjacking a woman at gunpoint outside the Hamilton Park Apartments in the Levittown section on Veterans Highway a little before 5 a.m. on January 1.

Police served the Langhorne branch of the Bucks County library system with a warrant and discovered the card belonged to Moyer.

Authorities say they then used a photo of Moyer and showed it to the carjacking victim, who confirmed he was the man behind the scary incident.

Moyer was arrested Wednesday and arraigned on several serious charges including kidnapping to facilitate a felony, two counts of robbery, a single count of possession of a prohibited firearm and related offenses. District Judge Daniel Baranoski set the 32-year-old’s bail at 10 percent of $250,000 and he was taken to county jail.

Moyer walked up to the victim’s car as she tried to exit the Veteran’s Highway (Route 413) apartment complex after she dropped off a co-worker following their shift at a local diner and got in.

After carjacking her at gunpoint, Moyer gave her directions and she followed them. The two ended up in the Snowball Gate section of Levittown. From there, Moyer took $200 cash, a cell phone and told the woman to get out of her 2013 Toyota Camry. He then drove off in her car, police said.

The woman banged on the doors of a few homes to try to get help and eventually ran to the Great American Diner at the intersection of Veterans and Lincoln highways. Police responded to the diner and the investigation began.

Philadelphia police recovered the Toyota two days after it was taken.

Police found Moyer’s bicycle at the apartment complex, court papers say.
